Russia Strikes at Ukraine’s Gas Transportation System
News

Russian invaders have attacked a Ukrainian gas distribution station in the Sumy region with attack drones.

The Russian Ministry of Defense released the footage of the attack.

On September 7, the Rubicon unit operators attacked the infrastructure of the gas transportation system near the village of Nad’yarnoye, 15 kilometers south of the combat line.

At least ten airplane-type drones hit production facilities and a pipeline network on the territory of a civilian facility.

The Russian side claimed a targeted strike on the energy facility, which fits into an ongoing series of attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

In particular, on the night of September 8, the Russian Federation executed a missile and drone attack on gas infrastructure, during which production facilities were damaged.

“The purpose of these criminal attacks is to stop the production of gas needed to meet the domestic needs of citizens and centralized heating,” Herman Halushchenko, Minister of Energy, emphasized.

Also, a month earlier, Russia twice struck a gas distribution station in the Odesa region. The facility, located near the Ukrainian-Romanian border, is a key element of the route connecting Greek LNG terminals with Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities via the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline.
