Russia Sends Military Trucks and Helicopters to Madagascar Under the Guise of Humanitarian Aid

The Russian Federation delivered a batch of equipment and 63 tons of cargo to Madagascar, which the Russian side calls humanitarian aid to overcome the consequences of Cyclone Fitiya.

The transfer was carried out by Il-76 and An-124 aircraft of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, according to African Initiative.

According to Russian sources, the cargo included six KamAZ trucks and two Mi-8 helicopters.

The equipment arrived on the island by military transport aircraft, along with three tons of related materials.

Weapons delivery to Madagascar

Last December, Russia supported the military junta in Madagascar with weapons and sent its own military personnel to the country.

A Russian military aircraft arrived at the international airport near the capital Antananarivo, delivering 40 soldiers and 43 boxes of weapons.

The delivery included various types of assault and sniper rifles, as well as anti-tank missile systems.
