The Russian Aerospace Forces have been equipped with new Su-34 bombers.

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) produced and delivered the aircraft.

This is the seventh batch of Su-34 military planes delivered in 2025.

According to published photos, the Su-34s were transferred at the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant, with three aircraft delivered.

Before being sent to their home airbase, the aircraft underwent a complete set of required ground and flight factory tests.

The Su-34, classified in Russia as a fighter-bomber, is designed to strike ground, surface, and aerial targets at significant distances from its home airbase. The aircraft can also conduct aerial reconnaissance.

The previous batch of new Su-34s, consisting of at least two aircraft, was delivered to the Russian Aerospace Forces in early November. The bomber deliveries were carried out under the country-aggressor’s current state defense order.

Since open reports by the Russians do not specify the exact number of aircraft in each batch, the actual number of Su-34s delivered is currently unknown. However, given that a typical batch usually includes two, and less often three, aircraft, it can be stated that the Russian Aerospace Forces have received at least 14 new planes this year.

The new aircraft are replacing Su-34s that have been destroyed or damaged in the war against Ukraine. Some planes also reach the end of their service life due to constant use in bombing strikes on Ukrainian positions.

Known losses in 2025

On the morning of September 25, the Ukrainian Air Force shot down a Russian Su-34 bomber in the Zaporizhzhia region. The aircraft crashed near the occupied city of Vasylivka. Another Su-34 crashed on July 1 in the Nizhny Novgorod region during a training flight.

In addition, five Russian fighter-bombers were damaged or destroyed as a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones on the Marinovka military airfield in the Volgograd region on June 27. Satellite images confirmed the aircraft’s damage and destruction.

In March, a Russian Su-34 landed at an airfield without its landing gear and sustained serious damage. The aircraft also lost its left engine.
