The Russian Federation launched a massive ballistic missile attack on the port infrastructure of the Odesa region, killing 7 people and wounding 15 others. The ballistic missiles were likely armed with cluster warheads.
This was reported by Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Military Administration.
“Tonight the enemy again massively attacked a port infrastructure facility in Odesa district with ballistic missiles. As a result of the attack, trucks in the parking lot caught fire,” he said in a statement.
According to preliminary information, seven people were killed, fifteen others were injured and hospitalized. Local channels note that the ballistic missiles were equipped with cluster warheads.
Doctors provide all necessary assistance to the victims. The work of operational and emergency services is complicated by the constant air raid alert, the head of the JMA noted.
As a reminder, on December 12, Russians attacked a Turkish container ship in the port of Odesa. The attack caused a large-scale fire on board the vessel.
At the same time, from November 25 to December 19, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 7 Russian vessels – 5 tankers and 2 cargo ships – in the Black, Azov, Caspian, and Mediterranean Seas.
During this time, Ukrainian defenders also hit the Kolpino submarine and a large landing ship in Novorossiysk from the Russian Black Sea Fleet, as well as the Russian Coast Guard Rubin-class patrol boat.
