At around 11:30, Russians hit Zaporizhzhia with two bombs. There are wounded and one dead person.

The head of Zaporizhzhia regional military administration Ivan Fedorov said that one bomb had hit an infrastructure facility, and the other had hit a densely populated area and a residential building.

“22 people are wounded and one person is dead. The number of victims of the enemy strike on Zaporizhzhia has increased,” he wrote in a telegram.

Fedorov also said that there were children among the wounded:

“Four children were wounded in a Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia. Boys aged 16, 14, 4 and 3 are now in hospital. Doctors assess their condition as moderate. The children are being provided with all the necessary assistance.”

A 69-year-old woman was seriously injured in the shelling. Doctors tried to resuscitate her, but could not save her.

The injured are being treated on the spot and taken to the hospital.

The State Emergency Service clarified that several 9-story buildings and an educational institution had been partially destroyed as a result of the attack.

Parked cars were on fire. Rescuers are evacuating people from the damaged building.

According to preliminary data, the strike was carried out by two KABs, as Russian high-explosive aerial bombs of various calibers with a universal planning and correction module, abbreviated as FAB with UMCM, are usually called in Ukraine. They are used by the occupiers to fire at the front line, frontline cities and other settlements that they can reach.

Since the attack in early January, Ukrainian forces have been able to deflect attacks from the city using electronic warfare (EW).

To reduce the effectiveness of Ukrainian electronic warfare, the Russians have modernized their bombs by equipping UMPK kits with 12-channel Kometa SRPA antennas. Such antennas detect false electronic signals and help to ignore them. As a result, the radio interference does not affect the navigation of the bomb, and it reaches its target. Therefore, it is likely that the bombs that hit Zaporizhzhia today were equipped with a 12-channel antenna, which allowed the Russians to resume air strikes on the city.
