The Russian invaders have launched the airstrikes on the town of Novgorod-Siversky in the Chernihiv region.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration announced this.

On the night of May 12, Russian aircraft struck a town in the north of the Chernihiv region, about 40 km from the state border.

According to the Head of the Regional Military Administration, the city was fired at with missiles from the fighter jets.

“Last night, Moscowite bastards launched several airstrikes on critical infrastructure facilities of Novhorod-Siversky town,” the statement said.

The aggressor’s shells have hit local schools, administrative buildings, and private houses.

Viacheslav Chaus reported fatalities and injuries as a result of the airstrike.

Rescuers and healthcare workers are currently working at the scene.

Information about the missile attack on the settlement was confirmed by the Operational Command “North”.

The statement reads: “Today at about 00:10 am and 00:23 am the enemy has carried out airstrikes, probably with a Su-30SM fighter aircraft, on Novhorod-Siversky (Chernihiv region). The targets of the aggressor’s aircraft were a local school and a boarding school.”

Previously, Mark Milley, U.S. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. stated the Russian use of hypersonic weapons in Ukraine was not causing “really significant effects”.

The United States also mentioned that Russia had launched between 10 and 12 hypersonic missiles against Ukraine so far.
