Russia has been using Tochka-U operational missile systems since the very first weeks of the invasion of Ukraine.
Militarnyi collected photo and video evidence dating from March and April of 2022.
On March 5, 2022, “MOTOLKO HELP” Telegram channel announced the delivery of the ORC “Tochka-U” to the airport in Machulishi. A convoy of 30 cars left for the Southeast in the direction of the border with Ukraine.
Already on March 6, 2022, the territory of Ukraine was shelled using missiles of this system. The 9M79M rocket engine was found near the village of Desnyanka.
On March 14, 2022, the Russians also used the same missile system to strike the city of Donetsk. The team of Conflict Intelligence Team analysts came to the conclusion that the missile was launched from the Southeast, i.e. from the Russia-controlled territory.
On March 29, 2022, the Belarusian Gayun community recorded the movement of the Tochka-U column North of the Ukrainian border.
On April 5th, the Russian military blog “bmpd” published a video of the Tochka-U launchers marked with tactical V signs and added the comment: “Vehicles of the Tochka-U missile system of the Russian Armed Forces being transferred out of Belarus by railway.”
Russian media statements about the absence of the Tochka-U in the Russian Armed Forces arsenal are misinformation. The Russian missile brigades did not undergo complete rearmament for Iskanders.
There is evidence of using the Tochka-U system by Russians against Ukraine both from the territory of Belarus, and from the occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
