Russia Equips Lancet Drone With PTM-3 Mine

Russian forces have equipped the Lancet loitering munition with a new warhead in the form of an anti-tank mine.

A video showing the drone being armed was published on X by user Tomasz Kwasek.

According to the footage, the Russians fitted Lancet with a Soviet-designed PTM-3 anti-tank mine, originally developed to destroy both light and heavy enemy armored vehicles.

The total weight of the mine is 4.9 kg, which corresponds to the drone’s allowable payload capacity. Unlike the standard KZ-6 warhead, PTM-3 offers improved performance.

Primarily, this concerns the amount of explosive material as PTM-3 contains 1.8 kg, while KZ-6 has 1.5 kg. The total weight of the warheads also differs: 4.9 kg for PTM-3 compared to 3 kg for KZ-6.

Regarding armor penetration, according to open sources, PTM-3 can penetrate approximately 80 mm of armor, whereas KZ-6 with TG-40 explosive can penetrate up to 200 mm under ideal conditions.

Militarnyi previously reported that in Russia, a presentation had been held for the Lancet-E system, developed and manufactured by the company Aeroscan.
