In Sudan, anti-government forces have destroyed the latest Turkish Akinci attack drone, which was in service with the government army.

The footage from the incident was published by a well-known military analyst War Noir.

According to him, the drone was destroyed by the so-called Rapid Support Forces in northern Darfur.

The Bayraktar Akinci is a Turkish high altitude and long endurance (HALE) drone created by Baykar.

This drone is capable of carrying a variety of weapons, including precision-guided missiles, guided bombs, and cruise missiles.

The drone is equipped with modern sensors and control systems that allow it to conduct reconnaissance, carry out strike operations and coordinate the actions of other drones in the air.

Analysts suggest that the drone was shot down by an anti-aircraft missile.

Connection with China

Recently, it has been reported that Chinese short-range FB 10-A anti-aircraft missile systems, which were supposed to be delivered to Chad, have actually ended up in the hands of rebels in Sudan.

The FB 10-A uses combined guidance, is characterized by fast response and high maneuverability, which makes it effective against air targets, including drones.

It has also recently become known that Sudanese anti-government forces have begun equipping their off-road vehicles with Chinese Wolves Team electronic warfare systems.

In 2025, the Rapid Support Forces announced the creation of a parallel “Government of Peace and Unity” that controls a large part of Sudan’s territory. China is reportedly actively supporting these forces.

The new administration has united armed movements from the regions of Darfur in the west and Kordofan in the central part of the country. Together, these territories cover about 46% of the country’s land area, indicating a deep political split and no decisive advantage between government forces and rebels.
