In Poland, officers from the Central Investigation Bureau of Police (CBŚP), supported by special forces from BOA, successfully apprehended members of the Sinaloa cartel in Świecie County.
The CBŚP (Centralne Biuro Śledcze Policji) press service reported this.
The CBŚP press service announced the operation, which involved a range of resources, including S-70i Black Hawk helicopters.
The official statement does not specify which cartel the members belong to:
“…three men were arrested on site – among them, two Mexican nationals linked to one of the largest drug cartels in North America.”
According to the investigation, the foreigners controlled the production process and were directly linked to an international drug cartel.
The Visegrád 24 publication stated on its X account that it was specifically the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel.
Along with them, one Polish citizen was arrested. All three were brought to the West Pomeranian Department for Organized Crime Affairs.
In their home country of Mexico, cartels are involved in internal conflict. For example, in July, it was reported that “La Línea” attacked the Sinaloa Cartel using a drone equipped with a weapon-dropping system.
The Antiterrorist Operations Bureau (Biuro Operacji Antyterrorystycznych, or BOA) is a specialized unit within the Polish central police, responsible for combating terrorism.
It is based in Warsaw and is responsible for operations that pose a serious threat to public order and safety in the country. The BOA is also a member of the ATLAS network, which unites police tactical units from 28 European Union member countries.
The Polish police have their own fleet of multi-purpose S-70i Black Hawk helicopters. As of 2024, there are five units. The first three were delivered between 2018 and 2019, and in 2022, two additional helicopters were ordered.
