Poland Receives MEROPS – Eric Schmidt’s Compact Anti-Drone Systems

MEROPS systems are already in Poland – Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed the arrival of American Eric Schmidt drones.

American anti-drone systems MEROPS, developed by the company of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, have already arrived in Poland, Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said on his X page.

He also emphasized that the systems are being deployed along NATO’s eastern flank.

“Systems that increase our ability to detect and counter drones are already in Poland. We are grateful to our allies and NATO for their joint actions in the security sphere,” the minister emphasized.

The MEROPS is a compact system that can fit in the back of a medium-sized pickup truck. It uses artificial intelligence to navigate and can operate even when communication or GPS is jammed.

Poland became one of the first NATO countries to receive the MEROPS, and the system is also being prepared for deployment in Romania and Denmark to strengthen the defense of the Alliance’s eastern flank.

The need for such technologies has increased after a series of incursions into NATO airspace by Russian drones in the fall of 2025, when Poland and Romania recorded violations of their borders.

The MEROPS is designed to prevent such incidents by detecting, identifying and neutralizing enemy drones at long distances.

“The deployment of the MEROPS is a concrete result of allied cooperation with NATO, which strengthens the security of Poland and the entire eastern flank,” Warsaw emphasized.

It was recently reported that Ukraine has launched mass production of STING interceptor drones and created a training center to train their operators.
