A contract has been signed in Poland for the construction of a service and production center for CAMM-ER air defense missiles.

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa announced that the center will open in the city of Zielonka. Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne, a company located in the same city, has joined the project.

The new production and service center will consist of a production and storage complex, warehouses, and supporting infrastructure.

An industrial hangar will also be built to facilitate production and logistics processes related to the development of command posts for air defense systems.

“In the coming years, Poland will become the country with the most modern missile defense shield in Europe, capable of countering unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, helicopters, and aircraft,” emphasized Cezary Tomczyk, Poland’s Deputy Minister of National Defense.

According to journalists from the Polish media Defence24, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa will manufacture CAMM anti-aircraft missiles under license from MBDA.

The investment is part of the Narew modernization program, aimed at creating an air and missile defense system.

Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne is one of Poland’s leading manufacturers of missile technologies and electronic warfare systems.

“The implementation of this investment will enable the production, assembly, and supply of CAMM-ER anti-aircraft missiles for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland,” the company stated.

Today, the Polish Armed Forces already have CAMM missiles in service as part of the Pilica+ systems manufactured by PGZ companies.

The investment in Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne will enable the equipping of 23 Narew system batteries with more than 1,000 CAMM-ER missiles.

Work on the construction of the center and production facility is scheduled to be completed by 2028. The investment will cost approximately $32.36 million, of which about $25.50 million will come from the Capital Investment Fund, and about $6.86 million will be provided by Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne itself.
