Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark are preparing to jointly procure unmanned aircraft systems and related technologies.

The technical agreement was signed on October 22, 2025, in Helsinki, which was an important step towards deepening defense cooperation in Northern Europe.

Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkenen said that this initiative would facilitate multinational operations in the region and strengthen support for Ukraine.

Joint procurement will increase industry production and reduce the costs for each country separately.

In addition to procurement, the countries plan to intensify cooperation in research and development, personnel training, and information exchange.

As part of separate projects, the four countries will also begin procuring micro drones in partnership with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.

At the same time, drones will be procured under the Danish Ministry of Defense’s framework agreements.
