Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov has named the main issues to be discussed at the ninth meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the “Ramstein” format.

The minister listed them on his Facebook page.

A new meeting of Ukraine’s partners will be held tomorrow, February 14.

The minister said that he had already gone to another meeting in the “Ramstein” format.

He heads a joint team of representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, intelligence, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian diplomats.

This team will work intensively with partners in the coming days.

According to Oleksii Reznikov, the main issues on the agenda of the new meeting will be as follows:

• protection of the Ukrainian sky, including through the involvement of an aviation platform;
• building a “tank coalition”;
• formation of ammunition reserve;
• training programs for the Ukrainian military;
• stability of support: logistics, maintenance, repair, practical implementation of the “military Schengen”.

It should be recalled that during the most recent meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, which took place on January 20, in a video message to the participants President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the partners to accelerate with the provision of weapons to Ukraine and provide longer-range missiles and F-16 fighters to the next meeting of allies.

Subsequently, Ukraine made a request to the Netherlands regarding the possibility of transferring F-16 fighters. This was confirmed by Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren.

She commented that the request of Kyiv was understandable, but not easy to fulfill.

Besides, the Slovak authorities have recently confirmed their readiness to transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.

However, before the final decision is made, it is necessary to hold negotiations within the country, as well as with the European Commission and Ukraine.
