Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof discussed the investment with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Good to have the chance to talk just now with President Zelenskyy about developments in Ukraine following Sunday’s meeting in London. Among other things we discussed a Dutch investment package worth €700 million for drones, aimed partly at Ukraine’s defence industry,” Dick Schoof stated.
He reassured that the Netherlands would continue to provide Ukraine with political, military, financial, and other assistance.
Recently, Zelenskyy, during a conversation with Dick Schoof, also discussed coordination with partners and the preparation of a joint plan for the approach of a just peace.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Netherlands has provided nearly €6 billion in military aid, including combat aircraft, drones, air defense systems, and other critical equipment.
Notably, the Netherlands has supplied F-16 fighter jets to strengthen Ukraine’s air force.
In addition to aircraft, the Netherlands has sent drones, radars, ammunition, tanks, artillery, small arms such as machine guns, ATVs, medical supplies, and food kits.
Furthermore, Dutch military personnel have assisted in training Ukrainian forces in Germany and the UK.
In 2024, the Netherlands also deployed 255 personnel to Germany and 350 to the UK for training missions.
During the recent Ramstein meeting, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced that 25 YPR-765 armored personnel carriers would be delivered to Ukrainian Defense Forces.
