The artillerymen of the Spartan Brigade of the National Guard have received a 155-mm wheeled Dita self-propelled artillery system.
The corresponding video was released by the brigade’s press service.
It is reported that the brigade has already used the Czech self-propelled artillery system at the frontline.
“In the Zaporizhzhia sector, we have already used it to destroy enemy infantry in shelters, small counter-groups, and enemy artillery installations,” recounts the commander of the self-propelled artillery unit, call sign Marley.
In late December, it was reported that the artillery units of the 12th Azov Brigade received Dita.
Militarnyi reported on November 15 about the National Guard receiving these self-propelled artillery systems. There were reports that the Netherlands ordered 9 of these artillery systems from the Czech Republic for Ukraine, followed by an additional 6.
It should be noted that it is unclear whether these artillery systems were transferred to the National Guard or obtained through another method, such as government defense procurement.
The Dita self-propelled artillery system is designed and manufactured by the Czech company Excalibur Army based on the concept of the Czechoslovakian wheeled Dana vz.77.
This newest self-propelled gun has a high degree of automation: the commander does not need to control the vehicle at the firing position, he enters all the data into the on-board computer and the driver receives the necessary parameters and instructions before the mission.
The ballistic computer of the combat vehicle independently calculates the firing parameters, and the combat vehicle’s automatic system aims the gun, loads the ammunition and propellants, and fires the shot.
The high degree of automation of all processes allows the crew to be reduced to two people, i.e., a commander and a driver.
At the same time, if the on-board electronics of the self-propelled gun fails, all manipulations, including the release of the supports, aiming and charging, can be performed manually.
The rate of fire of the self-propelled gun is up to 6 rounds per minute, the ammunition capacity is 40 shells, and the range is up to 39 kilometers.
It is worth recalling that this system has “sisters” in the form of 155-mm Zuzana and Zuzana 2 self-propelled guns manufactured in Slovakia. The latter also joined the arsenal of the artillery of the National Guard of Ukraine.
