Following yesterday’s publication by Militarnyi that Ukraine has been blocked from accessing satellite imagery from Maxar Technologies, the company has released a statement confirming that it was a decision of the US government.

The company has contracts with the US government and dozens of allied and partner countries around the world to provide satellite imagery and other geospatial data.

They confirmed that the shutdown was a result of the United States government’s ban on providing intelligence to Ukraine.
This morning, we reported that access to Ukrainian users of the Maxar service had been disabled under the wording that it had been blocked “at an administrative request”.
Ukrainian users have received emails with this message:
As the company has already confirmed, this was the result of the actions of President Donald Trump’s administration, which blocked Ukraine’s access to intelligence data.
