A man who supported the liquidation of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, Chief of the Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense (CBRN) Troops, has been sentenced in Russia.

The native of Kostroma was sentenced to eight years in prison in cases of “justification of terrorism” and “incitement of extremism”.
The Second Western District Military Court found 36-year-old Yevhen Shulga guilty on two counts of justifying the explosion that killed the chief of the Russian Army’s chemical warfare troops in December 2024.
And also for allegedly publishing messages on the Telegram messenger calling for “armed attacks on servicemen of the Ministry of Defense and the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN).”
It is noted that in March 2025, Yevhen Shulga’s name was added to the Russian list of “terrorists and extremists”. The man will serve his sentence in a general regime colony.
As a reminder, at about six in the morning on December 17, 2024, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, Head of the Russian Army’s chemical warfare troops, was killed in an explosion in Moscow.
He was just leaving the entrance. His assistant was killed along with him.
According to the investigation, the explosive device was planted in an electric scooter that was parked at the entrance.
Kirilov had been the chief of the radiation, chemical, and biological defense troops since May 2017.
In particular, he held briefings in which he spoke about the preparation of terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia, as well as about “American laboratories” in Ukraine and “fighting mosquitoes.”
The Russian lieutenant general was under UK sanctions on charges of involvement in the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine and spreading disinformation.
