The Greek Ministry of Defense has identified a list of weapons that the country seeks to receive from US warehouses under the Excess Defense Assets (EDA) program.

This is reported by the Pentapostagma publication.

Under the terms of this program, allied states can receive equipment free of charge, paying only for repairs, modernization and transportation.

Although the Pentagon has not officially announced the list of available systems, sources say that these include M109A5/A6 Paladin self-propelled artillery systems, M1A1/M1A2 Abrams tanks, M2A3 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Humvees, AH-64E Apache and UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, and drones.

Among the ground systems, the Greek defense ministry is most interested in Paladin self-propelled artillery systems, which are already in service with artillery units.

Greece is interested in the M109A5 and M109A6 versions, which the United States is decommissioning in favor of the newer M109A7.

Despite their age, these modifications fully meet the needs of the Greek army, especially in large numbers.
