If the war against Ukraine stops or freezes, and NATO does not rearm, Russia could be ready for a large-scale war in Europe in about five years.

The Danish Defence Intelligence Service stated this in its new threat assessment, DR reports.

It is noted that the military threat from Russia will increase in the coming years.

Among the reasons, the intelligence community cites the fact that Russia, in parallel with the war against Ukraine, launched “a major restoration and reform of its armed forces.”

Over the past year, these efforts have allegedly turned from restoration into “an intensified military buildup to wage war against NATO.”

The threat assessment states that Russia has already managed to increase its capacity to modernize military equipment and has significantly increased its military production.

According to Danish intelligence, Russia is already able to free up resources for its armament against NATO, “not least because of the financial and material support it receives from outside.”

The Ministry noted that if the fighting in Ukraine stops and NATO does not rearm at a sufficient pace, Russia will be able to wage a local war against a neighboring country in about six months.

In about two years, it will pose a real threat to one or more NATO countries, i.e., it will be ready for a regional war against several states in the Baltic Sea region.

And Russia could be ready for a large-scale war on the European continent, in which the United States would not be involved, in about five years.

Supply of raw materials and weapons to the Russian Federation

As previously reported, journalists of the Schemes project discovered that China has become a critical, and in some cases the only, supplier of critical semi-metals to the Russian Federation, which are used, in particular, in the production of weapons.

According to the South Korean Ministry of Defense, the DPRK has transferred about 200 long-range artillery units and additional troops to Russia.
