Lithuania has donated trucks and spare parts for American M113 armored personnel carriers to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

This was reported by the official website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.

The transfer of vehicles and spare parts is part of the urgent needs to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities, which will be expanded to significant and substantial assistance this year.

The ministry noted that future support packages would cover air defense, ammunition, drones and anti-drone weapons.

In parallel, Lithuania will develop the Lithuanian defense industry and support Ukraine’s defense industry by financing weapons production in Ukraine.

Since 2024, Lithuania has already made several transfers of military aid to Ukraine. In January, Lithuanian-made drones, as well as thermal imagers and wheeled loaders, were transferred to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The drones transferred to Ukraine were manufactured by Lithuanian companies Dangolakis, RSI Europe, Ltmiltech, Granta Autonomy and Unmanned Defense Systems. The total number of drones to be transferred is expected to reach 4,500 units worth EUR 5 million.

They are delivered fully assembled, which makes it possible to reduce the time of transfer to combat units and preparation for flight.

Also at the end of January, portable air defense missile systems (MANPADS) were transferred as part of a new military assistance package.

For security reasons, the Lithuanian defense ministry does not disclose which model of man-portable air defense systems Ukraine received.

According to the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the war, the country has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth more than €768 million. The total amount of Lithuanian assistance to Ukraine is long-term and has already exceeded one and a half billion euros.

Lithuania will also join the Mine Action Coalition, which it leads jointly with Iceland, as well as other capacity building coalitions in which it participates. Military assistance will also be provided through international funds and collective initiatives, and training of the Ukrainian military and rehabilitation of wounded soldiers will continue.
