Soldiers from the 27th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, part of the Lazar Separate Special Forces Detachment, destroyed a Buk-M1 air defense missile system in the Donetsk region.
This was reported by Yurii Butusov on his Telegram channel, former editor-in-chief of Censor.Net and now a soldier in the Khartiia Brigade.
The enemy air defense system was destroyed using heavy bomber drones.
The operation to destroy the launcher was carried out in two stages: first, locating and destroying the shelter in which it was located, and second, during its movement.
As of today, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to destroy or damage more than 50 self-propelled launchers for the Buk-M1 air defense missile system.
In early August, we reported that Lazar Group soldiers had destroyed a launcher for the Russian S-300V anti-aircraft missile system. It was found in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.
On September 5th, 2025, Forbes Ukraine editor-in-chief Boris Davydenko wrote on his Facebook page that Lazar Group had hit more than 40,000 targets belonging to the Russian occupiers.
The commander of this unit is Colonel Pavlo ‘Lazar’ Yelizarov of the National Guard of Ukraine, who was a producer before the large-scale invasion began.
The Lazar Separate Special Forces Detachment has a full cycle of design and production of drones, as well as ammunition for them.
The date of the detachment’s creation is unknown, but since the battles for Bakhmut in 2023, it has been one of the most effective units in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
