Ukrainian soldiers defending the Kharkiv region from the invaders have received four Valkyrja unmanned aerial systems for funds raised by Kharkiv residents.
Serhiy Prytula’s Charitable Foundation transferred the domestic unmanned systems.
These drones are intended for reconnaissance and adjustment of Ukrainian artillery strikes.
The Foundation notes that thanks to the UAH 3,930,000 raised by the Hu’*yovyi Kharkiv community, as well as the media groups Nakypilo, HS-Kharkiv, News of Kharkiv – 057.ua, Kharkiv LIVE, Where in Kharkiv, Alekseevka Kharkiv, and Left Bank Kyiv, which joined the campaign, the Ukrainian military received four new UAV systems.
Each Valkyrja system has two UAVs and a ground station.
These funds were also used to upgrade another system already operating at the front to an advanced communication system.
The cost of each system is UAH 900,000, and the cost of re-equipment is UAH 330,000.
“From now on, the Valkyrjas will be used in the 57th Motorized Brigade, 77th Airmobile Brigade, 42nd Motorized Brigade, and 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. The systems of the 36th Marine Brigade and the 501st Separate Marine Infantry Battalion were re-equipped,” Serhiy Prytula’s Foundation reported.
The report emphasizes that the work of Valkyrja drones at the front cannot be overestimated. These drones are able to conduct reconnaissance and quickly adjust the fire of the artillery of the Defense Forces.
It is noted that the systems have proven themselves well due to their relatively low cost and good flight characteristics.
Each UAV can stay in the air for up to 150 minutes and has “a computer that receives the camera image and synchronizes it with satellite maps. It can also fly without GPS,” the charity said.
The UAV’s crew consists of only two people, and the system can perform both round-the-clock surveillance of the front line and reconnaissance operations up to 40 km away.
