Israeli defense company Elbit Systems has received contracts to supply UT30 MK2 combat modules equipped with a 30 mm cannon, as well as related ammunition.
The company announced the new order on its website.
The international customer has not been disclosed. The press service said the contracts will run for three years.
The total value of the contracts for the UT30 MK2 modules and ammunition for their automatic cannons is approximately $277 million.
The combat modules are designed to increase the firepower and survivability of armored vehicles such as infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers.
The low-profile UT30 MK2 from Elbit Systems integrates a range of weapon systems, including a 30 mm cannon, a 7.62 mm machine gun and an anti-tank missile system.
The module can also be equipped with the Iron Fist active protection system. It provides all-round protection against a range of modern battlefield threats, including guided missiles, rocket-propelled grenades and kinetic projectiles.
The Israeli-made UT30 MK2 is installed, among others, on ASCOD infantry fighting vehicles produced by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS).
Latvia has decided to strengthen its armed forces with these tracked infantry fighting vehicles amid what it describes as aggressive actions by Russia.
The first of the 84 ordered vehicles, locally named Hunter, are due to be delivered to the Latvian military in spring 2026.
The contract for the first batch of ASCOD infantry fighting vehicles was signed on January 30, 2025, and is valued at €387 million. In June 2025, Latvia’s Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal by the Defense Ministry to purchase an additional 42 ASCOD vehicles at the same unit price. The first vehicles are scheduled to enter service in the fall of this year.
The purchase contract also provides for partial localization of production.
