Israel announced the elimination of Majid Hademi, head of the intelligence division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in an airstrike. Iran confirmed the death of the high-ranking official.

This was reported by Tasnim.

The report states that the lieutenant general served in intelligence agencies for nearly fifty years and defended the Islamic Revolution “bravely and honorably.”

He was appointed head of intelligence in June 2025. According to Iranian sources, the previous head, Mohammad Kazemi, also died as a result of an Israeli strike on Tehran.

Majid Hademi became yet another key figure killed in the US-Israeli airstrikes. He took over the agency in 2025 after Israeli airstrikes killed his predecessor.

For decades, he worked in intelligence and counterintelligence, gradually rising through the ranks of Iran’s security apparatus.

Prior to his appointment, Hademi headed the IRGC’s Intelligence Protection Organization, which is responsible for internal surveillance and counterintelligence, and also held senior positions in Iran’s Ministry of Defense.

The IRGC’s intelligence unit is one of Iran’s most influential security agencies. It plays a central role in domestic surveillance to counter foreign influence and often operates in parallel with the civilian Ministry of Intelligence.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that they had carried out a strike on the Iranian capital with the aim of eliminating Khadami. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz vowed to continue attacks on high-ranking Iranian officials.

“Iran’s leaders live with the feeling that they are being hunted down. We will continue to track them down one by one,” the minister emphasized.

In addition to strikes on military and energy infrastructure, Israel is also actively targeting Iran’s military and political leadership.

According to Reuters estimates, since the start of the war on February 28, 2026, the following have been killed: Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, his advisor Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, IRGC Commander Hossein Salami, IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Al-Quds Force Commander Esmail Qaani, Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, Army Ground Forces Commander Kiomars Heydari, and IRGC Navy Intelligence Chief Behnam Rezaei.
