In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian defense is being reinforced with the help of “dragon’s teeth.”

At the same time, in Zaporizhzhia, the purchase of reinforcing obstacles, the so-called dragon’s teeth, was canceled for safety reasons.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the tender for the purchase of “dragon’s teeth” was removed for safety reasons.

“We understand that Russia will make every effort to find out what is being built, where it is being built, and in what quantity. That is why the announcement on Prozorro regarding the purchase of obstacles was removed,” Ivan Fedorov shared.

In addition, Ivan Fedorov noted that the cancellation of the tender will not affect the equipment of the defensive positions of the Ukrainian military with dragon’s teeth.

“This does not mean that they will not be installed on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. I will say more: they are already installed exactly in the amount that the military ordered,” Ivan Fedorov pointed out.

On January 5, a tender for the purchase of reinforcing obstacles was published on the website of the Prozorro electronic public procurement system. According to the information, Zaporizhzhia RMA planned to purchase 45 thousand obstacles, the expected cost of which was UAH 88.5 million.

Companies seeking to enter the tender had to submit their offer by January 13. According to the register, three companies made their proposals for the manufacture of fortifications.

On January 15, a public auction was held. The winner was the company that offered the lowest bid at about UAH 70 million. On January 26, the results were canceled. As stated in the public procurement system, Zaporizhzhia RMA refused to build the barrier pyramids due to the lack of budget allocation from the state budget.

On February 12, Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, commented on the purchase of 45 thousand dragon’s teeth.

“The tender was indeed canceled. There were other valid reasons, which we cannot disclose due to the Russian Federation’s cunning,” said Ivan Fedorov.

Previously, the government allocated UAH 1.3 billion for the construction of fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia region. In total, the government allocated UAH 17.5 billion for the construction of fortifications.
