Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has released a video showing the destruction of three ballistic missile launchers in western Iran.
The video was posted on the official Facebook page of the IDF and the Israeli Air Force.
The published footage shows the destruction of self-propelled launchers equipped with ballistic missiles a few moments before the strike. However, the low image quality does not allow us to determine exactly which missiles were destroyed.
The ministry said it had struck ‘hundreds of targets’ as part of Operation Lion’s Roar, which began on the morning of February 28 with strikes on Tehran.
According to Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, the operation aims to eliminate immediate threats to Israel’s national security.
In addition to military targets, the strikes were directed, in particular, against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian. Other high-ranking commanders of the regime, military personnel, and symbols of the government were also targeted.
Several high-ranking commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and political officials were killed in the strikes, an Iranian source close to the establishment told Reuters.
US President Donald Trump officially confirmed his involvement in the operation in Iran with the aim of “protecting the American people.” He stressed that the military’s task is to completely destroy the country’s missile industry and eliminate its naval forces.
In response, Iran struck the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet military base in Bahrain, which serves as the main logistical and operational hub for the US fleet in the Middle East.
In addition, explosions were recorded at the US Al Udeid base in Qatar and during an attack on the Ali Salem base in Kuwait. Iran also attacked US bases in the UAE, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.
The United Arab Emirates said it had intercepted a second wave of Iranian strikes, reporting that missile fragments had fallen on the capital Abu Dhabi without causing casualties after the first wave killed one civilian.
“The fragments of the intercepted missiles fell in various areas of Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohammed bin Zayed City, and Al Falah, with no casualties in these areas,” the UAE Ministry of Defence said.
