The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that amongst all EU countries, only Hungary and Austria do not supply weapons to Ukraine.

Dmytro Kuleba stated this on the air, during the telethon.

Kuleba noted that Ukraine is now being helped by those countries that have never supplied weapons to conflict zones in their modern history. He particularly listed Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands. Due to this help, some of them had to amend their legislation.

“With the exception of Hungary and Austria, which is a neutral country, the supply of weapons to Ukraine is not a taboo for any European country, although it used to be. Therefore, the question is not what they are against, the question is what they are for, but when you move to the practical level, many different things appear – arguments, discussions,” the minister said.

The head of the Foreign Ministry added that the political discussions of the Western partners about when and which weapons to transfer are costing Ukraine daily losses at the front.

As previously reported, Hungary opposes the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine in order not to expose Hungarians living in Ukrainian Transcarpathia to the danger of Russian shelling.

In July, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary stated that Budapest is ready to pass through its territory all aid provided by other countries to Ukraine, including military aid.

The Hungarian delegation also offered to help with the treatment of civilians and military personnel in their medical facilities.

It is worth noting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive M109A5 self-propelled howitzers from Latvia. Latvia received those howitzers from Austria.

Austria also transfers humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

In June, Austria handed over to Ukrainian rescuers and medics fire rescue equipment and resuscitation vehicles.

In addition to vehicles, much other equipment and gear arrived in Ukraine.
