Germany will provide nine Boxer RCT30 infantry fighting vehicles as part of a new military aid package for Ukraine.

This was reported on the official website of the German government.

The IFVs are equipped with a 30-mm cannon with the ability to use programmable ammunition and will be used as a mobile fire control center, probably to destroy drones.

The military aid package also included 600 HF-1 loitering munitions, 46 RQ-35 Heidrun drones, 43 Songbird drones, and 50 Vector drones.

In addition, about 11,000 120-mm mortar shells and 33,000 artillery rounds were delivered, including 19,000 122-mm and 14,000 155-mm rounds.

In addition to the Boxer RCT30, five additional Marder 1A3 IFVs will be delivered, 20 FFG mine-clearing vehicles have already been delivered, and spare parts for the Leopard 1A5 tanks will be available to the defense forces.

The other equipment will include 495 HK416 assault rifles, 65 field binoculars, 24,200 woolen blankets, 120,000 chest occlusion stickers, and 30,000 tourniquets will be delivered.

Information about Germany’s military assistance to Ukraine was updated after German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius’s surprise visit to Ukraine on January 14, 2025.

As later reported, the visit was part of a discussion with the Ukrainian government on further steps regarding military assistance and its strengthening in the future.

Militarnyi previously reported that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius transferred the first of 54 RCH 155 wheeled self-propelled artillery systems to the Ukrainian Ambassador in Kassel.

The transfer of the artillery system took place on the territory of the KNDS Group company in Kassel, where they are manufactured. Currently, it will be used to train Ukrainian crews in Germany.

The event was announced on January 9, when German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius shared with the media that in 2025 Ukraine would receive the first six of the latest 155 mm wheeled RCH 155 self-propelled artillery systems. In addition, it was noted that the first of those artillery systems would be delivered about a week after the announcement for 2025.

Initially, in 2022, Ukraine planned to purchase 18 units of RCH 155 artillery systems, but later the number of ordered units increased to 36, and finally it increased to 54 units.
