German law enforcement is investigating a potential sanctions violation by a company exposed by Ukrainian investigative journalists for supplying epoxy resin used in the production of Shahed drones.
Slidstvo.Info reported on this.
The editorial office received an official request from the Security Service of Ukraine, which is acting on behalf of German authorities. The request concerns the provision of materials from the journalistic investigation titled “Are Germans working with Russians? What are the Shaheds made of that fly to Ukraine?” The investigation looks into the possible violation of sanctions by German companies.
Law enforcement attention has been drawn to the company Goettle Advanced Products, which, according to an investigation by Slidstvo.Info, supplied epoxy resin to the Russian company Kompozit Izdelia. The latter is believed to have directed this material to the Alabuga industrial zone, where the production of Shahed drones is reportedly underway.
The German side is requesting documents and information held by the editorial office of Slidstvo.Info. Specifically, they are interested in details about the commercial ties between the German company Goettle Advanced Products and the Russian company Composite Products.
They are also seeking information about any potential connections of this Russian company to the Russian military-industrial complex, particularly with the production of Shahed-type drones. The materials obtained will be used by German law enforcement authorities in their own investigations.
As revealed by the journalists, according to customs data, Goettle Advanced Products trades almost exclusively with Russia, with only a few exceptions, and throughout 2023, it supplied products to the Russian company Kompozit Izdelia.
In early 2024, hackers breached the email servers of a front company for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps called Sahara Thunder, which contained a database on the production of Shahed-136 strike drones for Russia. The data also included information about Alabuga.
The leaked documents identify the Russian company Kompozit Izdelia as a supplier of epoxy resin.
In addition to epoxy resin, the production of Shahed drones also requires carbon fiber, which is supplied by the company Khimprominzhiniring—the only carbon fiber producer in Russia. Its subsidiary, Alabuga-Volkno, located in the Alabuga economic zone, supplies materials for drone production.
In September 2025, the body of the CEO of Khimprominzhiniring was found by the roadside near a village outside Moscow, along with a rifle and a suicide note. His suicide became the 35th “mysterious death” of top Russian officials and company executives since 2022.
