The French Air and Space Force is currently training three Ukrainian pilots to fly Mirage 2000 fighters.
This was reported by French Aid to Ukraine, citing a press conference by the French Ministry of Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs.
Earlier, it was announced that Ukraine would receive two fighter jets from France as part of military aid by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
The two aircraft are to be delivered in addition to the three delivered last year.
Thus, by the end of 2026, Ukraine should have four to five such fighter jets at its disposal, as one was lost last summer.
The Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets are currently one of the key elements of Ukraine’s air defense system.
Thanks to their missile armament, in particular MICA missiles, these aircraft are actively used to intercept Russian cruise missiles and drones.
