The Sumy Regional Military Administration showcased the progress of construction works in Shostka district.

“Effective decisions have been made at the local government level to fulfill the task of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky aimed at strengthening the defense lines,” said Volodymyr Artiukh, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

According to him, “there is enough equipment and the living conditions are normal for the construction teams to work very intensively even in the difficult winter conditions.”

The Sumy Regional Military Administration notes that the fortifications are another level of protection of the Sumy region from the aggressor, that is very close by.

Previously, Volodymyr Artiukh, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, said that attacks by Russian subversive groups along the entire border line of the region bordering Russia had intensified in the Sumy region. The invaders are constantly entering the territory of the region. Also, the shelling by the Russian Federation has intensified over the past two months.

“It should be noted that 4-5 months ago such actions by the enemy were not so intense. Now they have become systemic,” said the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

On December 7 alone, Russians fired 17 times at the border areas and settlements of the Sumy region. 61 explosions were recorded.

As previously reported, the State Transport Special Service will purchase vehicles and engineering equipment for the construction of fortifications.
