Explosion Completely Destroys One of the Facilities of an Explosives Plant in the United States

An explosion has completely destroyed one of the workshops at the Accurate Energetic Systems plant in Tennessee, which produces explosives, in particular for the US Army.

The explosion occurred at about 7:45 a.m. local time and was ‘devastating,’ but rescuers managed to bring the situation under control by late morning, Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis said at a press conference.

“At this point, we have several people who are unaccounted for. We can also confirm that there are fatalities,” Davis said.

According to the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office, Accurate Energetic Systems specializes in the production of military explosives.

The company’s Facebook page says it manufactures “a variety of high explosives and special products for the U.S. Department of Defense and industry.”

According to NewsChannel 5, at least 19 people are missing after the explosion. Nick Beres, a journalist for the outlet, said that the explosion occurred around the time of the change of regular work shifts, so there could have been more people coming and going at the plant at that moment.

As a reminder, in April 2025, the Northrop Grumman missile plant exploded in the United States. One of the workshops of the Northrop Grumman plant, which produces intercontinental ballistic missiles, was completely destroyed by the explosion.
