American aerospace company Maxar has restored the accounts of Ukrainian users of the Global Enhanced GEOINT Delivery (GEGD) program.
Several users of the service confirmed this to Militarnyi.
The GEGD program, provided by the U.S. government, offers access to commercial satellite imagery designated and collected by the U.S. government.
Previously, several U.S. entities temporarily suspended Ukrainian accounts in GEGD. The official reason given to Ukrainian users by Maxar’s administration was “at the administrative request.”
In reality, the suspension was due to a U.S. government ban on providing Ukraine with intelligence. The administration of President Donald Trump, through the State Department, prohibited American companies and commercial services from supplying satellite data to Ukraine. This ban applied to both government and private users.
Yesterday, March 11, 2025, following negotiations between delegations from Ukraine and the United States, the pause on the provision of intelligence and military assistance to Ukraine was lifted.
Almost immediately, the editorial staff of Militarnyi reached out to Maxar Technologies for comment on the restoration of access for Ukrainian users.
As of 8:00 AM, no official comments have been received, but users have already started receiving notifications about the restoration of access.
On March 5, 2025 the United States had suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine. This data was used, among other things, for strikes on strategic targets in Russia and for guiding high-precision American weapons near the front line.
The next day, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu stated that France was ready to share its intelligence data with Ukraine in place of the Americans.
