After Russian drones flew into Polish airspace on September 10th, European countries began to take an active interest in Ukrainian interceptor drones.
This is stated in an article by The Kyiv Independent.
According to a European military diplomat, interest in Ukrainian technology grew instantly: “We have previously discussed investments in interceptor drones, but now it has become an urgent need.”
Triada Trade Partners, a Ukrainian consulting company, reported a sharp increase in requests for interceptor drones and electronic warfare systems.
Requests came not only from Poland, but also from Germany, Denmark, and the Baltic states.
“Russia has shown that it is not afraid to attack NATO countries directly. Now the Alliance is looking for a solution,” said Bohdan Popov, an analyst at Triada Trade Partners.
The biggest demand is for the new Ukrainian drones introduced by President Zelensky three months ago, the report says.
These drones, funded by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, cost less than $2,000 per unit and effectively destroy Russian Shahed UAVs. They are much cheaper than Western missiles used for interception.
However, Ukrainian manufacturers are concerned that many of the requests may be attempts at industrial espionage.
“We receive requests from all over the world, but we suspect that some of them are attempts to get a ready-made solution,” says the Wild Hornets Charitable Fund, which produces Sting interceptor drones.
The export of drones is possible only with the permission of the State Service for Export Control of Ukraine, which does not disclose the criteria for making decisions.
“No one knows what will happen tomorrow. But today, Ukraine is the best source of solutions for protection against Russian strikes,” Popov summarized.
