The units of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade have repelled a Russian assault using civilian vehicles in the Siverskyi direction.
The brigade’s press service published a video showing the repelled attack.
Aerial reconnaissance identified the movement of vehicles toward Ukrainian positions.
The enemy used cars manufactured by Russian automakers, modified with anti-drone protection and stripped of doors and trunks.
The vehicles were used to rapidly reach the frontline in an apparent attempt to launch an assault.
Ukrainian forces responded with FPV drones, targeting the advancing vehicles. The resulting disarray forced Russian infantry to scatter, enabling Ukrainian troops to eliminate the assault group.
Despite efforts to exploit the vehicles’ speed, Russian forces lost 12 cars and one motorcycle, which was leading the convoy in a reconnaissance role. The attackers failed to reach Ukrainian positions and suffered significant personnel losses.
This is not the first time Russian forces have used civilian vehicles in attacks on Ukrainian positions.
Recently, the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, together with supporting units, repelled a similar Russian assault near the settlement of Bohatyr.
The Russian side used 18 motorcycles and 10 cars fitted with anti-drone protection to cross open terrain toward Ukrainian positions.
More unusual vehicles have also been observed, including the GAZ-69, a Soviet-era off-road vehicle produced between 1952 and 1973. These have been spotted in use by Russian forces since at least 2023.
