Early this morning in the Russian city of Ukhta, attack drones struck the Lukoil-Ukhtaneftepererabotka oil refinery.

Thick black smoke was seen rising from the site where the drones hit, according to Astra.

In 2020, the refinery processed approximately 2 million tons of crude oil.

Following the strikes, Ukhta Airport was also closed for security reasons.

Footage released online shows drones flying overhead that resemble Ukrainian Liutyi long-range drones.

The Liutyi is a Ukrainian long-range kamikaze strike UAV. It is reported to have a flight range of around 2,000 kilometers.

It carries a 50–75 kg warhead and is characterized by high accuracy thanks to artificial intelligence and autonomous capabilities.
