Drones Attacked Traction Power Substation in Rostov Region

Strike drones attacked the Likhaya-Zamchalovo traction power substation in the Rostov region, which is used by Russians to support the occupation forces in Ukraine.

According to the NASA Firms, a fire broke out on the substation’s territory.

The attacked substation is located near the village of Uglerodovsky and feeds the railway line that runs electric trains in this direction.

The fire at the substation was reported at 01:12 on August 2, 2025.

It should be noted that the rear areas near the border have become key elements of the logistics infrastructure that supports the conduct of hostilities. One of these areas is Likhaya-Zamchalovo, a district in the southeast of the Rostov region, located 50-70 km from the border with the occupied territories of Ukraine.

With the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, this area was turned into a rear supply base. Freight trains with equipment, ammunition, and personnel are sent through Likhaya station to the occupied Donbas.

Currently, Russians are restoring the railway infrastructure in the temporarily occupied territories, primarily in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. In particular, a new railroad branch of the Rostov-on-Don-Crimea route is being laid through Berdiansk.

Its purpose is to reduce dependence on the Crimean bridge and ensure safer transportation of military cargo to reinforce the occupation forces in Ukraine.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the operators of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine had intercepted a Russian train with fuel for military equipment.

The destruction of the rolling stock with fuel tanks took place in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The strike was carried out by a unit of the active operations UAVs of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on the Verkhniy Tokmak – Molochansk – Fedorivka railway section on May 24, 2025.

According to CyberBoroshno, the train was hit in the village of Novobohdanivka, the Melitopol district, at coordinates 47.0913824, 35.3175684. The settlement is located about 50 km from the contact line.
