Drones attacked an oil depot in the Kursk region

An oil depot in the Kursk region of Russia exploded and caught fire as a result of a drone attack.

Local media reported on this.

On the night of February 15, a massive fire, preceded by two explosions, broke out on the territory of an oil depot in the village of Polevaya, Kursk region.

Local residents report that the drone strikes caused the explosions.

Kursk Region Governor Roman Starovoyt confirmed the use of drones.

“As a result of a Ukrainian UAV attack in the Kursk region, an oil depot got on fire. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties,” Starovoyt stated.

Local Telegram channels report that a 100-ton oil tank is on fire on the territory of the oil depot. At the same time, other media outlets reported that three tanks had been hit.

The oil depot is located directly in the village of Polevaya, which is 150 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border.

There are 10 tanks for petroleum products on its territory, along with the railway line that can also accommodate fuel tankers.

On January 19, a similar fire broke out at an oil depot in the town of Klintsy in the Bryansk region.

Local government officials reported that the drone attack took place after 6 a.m. local time.

A massive fire followed the explosion, with eyewitnesses posting footage on social media.
