Strike drones attacked the Sukodolnaya oil pumping station in the Verkhnedonskoy district of Russia’s Rostov region.
Yury Slyusar, the governor of Rostov region, reported on this.
The attack on the station took place during the night of October 1 and, according to NASA’s FIRMS service, was recorded at 2:01 a.m.
Meanwhile, while confirming the attack, the regional governor claimed that the roof of a building and grass in a field allegedly caught fire as a result of a drone crash – a statement that is, at the very least, inconsistent with the facts.
The Sukodolnaya oil pumping station is a key link in Russia’s oil transportation system, ensuring the transport of oil to the Black Sea coast.
The station is part of the Samara – Sukodolnaya – Rodionovskaya – Tikhoretsk pipeline, which transports oil from Russia’s central regions to the Black Sea coast. This route was developed to avoid transit through Ukrainian territory.
Militarnyi previously reported that in Russia’s Tver region, a drone attacked a fuel depot belonging to the Federal Agency for State Reserves (Rosrezerv).
