On the night of March 20, Ukrainian drones struck the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in the Luhansk region.
The Exilenova+ Telegram channel reported the attack and shared video from the scene.
Previously, Ukraine’s General Staff said that Russian forces had set up production of artillery shell casings at the facility.
Monitoring channels report at least four drone hits on the plant.
There are indications that the blast furnace and the oxygen converter shop may have been damaged – both are critical for steel production. However, the full extent of the damage is not yet known.
The Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant is located in the city of Alchevsk in the Luhansk region, more than 60 kilometers from the front line. The city has been under Russian occupation since 2014. It is one of the oldest iron and steel enterprises in eastern Ukraine.
The facility was previously targeted by Ukrainian drones in early December 2025. At that time, a fire broke out following a strike, and there were reports of possible damage to the oxygen production unit.
Recently, Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed a Russian anti-aircraft missile depot in occupied Dovzhansk, also in the Luhansk region.
The Russian occupation army had set up the arsenal on the site of a former dynamite storage facility.
It is worth noting that Dovzhansk is located deep in the rear of the occupied territory, near the border with Russia.
This logistics hub allowed the enemy to stockpile ammunition to support its group of forces conducting offensive operations in the eastern direction.
In addition, Ukrainian drones caught up with and struck a Russian train transporting fuel and ammunition in the Luhansk region.
