Drone Attack on Military Airfield and Oil Refinery: Night Explosions in Ryazan

On the night of Thursday, October 23, a series of explosions occurred in the Russian city of Ryazan. Local residents reported a drone attack.

The Exilenova+ Telegram channel, which published a video of the fire, reported that the local oil refinery and the Dyagilevo military airfield were targeted in the attack.

Russian propaganda outlets also reported nighttime explosions in the regional center and in the city of Skopin.

According to eyewitnesses, powerful explosions were heard on the outskirts of Ryazan at approximately 3:15 a.m., followed by later blasts in Skopin. Locals claim they heard about ten explosions in total and saw flashes in the sky. A fire broke out afterward.

Meanwhile, Russian sources claim that their air defense systems were operating against the drones. There is currently no confirmed information about any damage or destruction of facilities.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery, owned by Rosneft, has a declared processing capacity of up to 17 million tons of petroleum products per year, making it one of the largest refineries in Russia. It is located more than 450 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The facility is a key supplier of motor fuel for the regions surrounding the Russian capital. Ukrainian drones have repeatedly targeted the plant.
