To manage the troops, Ukrainian commanders use the Discord platform.

It has long been used by gamers from all over the world. Discord allows military personnel to quickly join group voice calls.

The application of this platform was demonstrated in the command post of the Territorial Defense Forces.

Discord was used for communication during exercises involving the Territorial Defense Force and the 26th River Boat Division.

Soldiers learned how to land a river landing and capture a designated bridgehead.

“The restoration of territorial integrity will be associated with the need to quickly overcome water obstacles,” the military said.

The Discord platform was also used by Ukrainian command posts during hostilities in Donbas.

In March of this year, The New York Times published a photo featuring a Ukrainian command post that actively uses this platform for communication.

Apparently, the military used Discord chats to create voice channels: to quickly connect with the entire battle group at different positions.

Presumably, the military uses special platforms to protect the server from hacking. They are compatible with Discord and allow to set up all users on your own server.

As previously reported, the leaked documents from the Pentagon, which allegedly demonstrated Ukrainian plans and the amount of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were published for the first time on the Discord servers.

In Ukraine, the Kropyva command and control system is also used, which allows to orientate the unit’s actions on the terrain and ensures calculations and target designation. Thanks to the Kropyva system, the time from the moment of identifying the target to working on it is reduced several times.
