Germany’s Diehl Defense has acquired Dynamit Nobel GmbH, which Ukraine has cooperation agreements with.
Diehl Defense stated that under the agreement, it had acquired all operations, employees and assets of Dynamit Nobel.
With this acquisition, Diehl Defense also acquires shares in Troisdorfer Genehmigungshaltergesellschaft mbH (TGHG), which manufactures explosives.
Dynamit Nobel Defense is one of the largest European arms manufacturers.
It produces RGW 60, RGW 90, RGW 110 and Pzf 3 anti-tank grenade launchers.
The company’s grenade launchers have already been provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of military aid.
In February this year, Ukrainian Defense Industry also signed a cooperation agreement with Dynamit Nobel.
In addition, the company specializes in the development and production of communication and situational awareness systems, armor for armored vehicles and various systems for military vehicles.
Diehl Defense, in turn, manufactures IRIS-T systems for the Ukrainian air defense forces.
IRIS-T SLM air defense systems demonstrate high capabilities in protecting Ukrainian skies from Russian missiles and drones.
As the system is supplied to other European countries besides Ukraine, Diehl is expanding its production capacity.
In total, the German company is set to produce seven air defense missile systems in 2024, which will be delivered to the respective customers. The production rate of missiles will also be increased, with about 400-500 units to be manufactured in 2024.
