It has been disclosed where the large group of Russian warships that departed from Novorossiysk is headed.
Naval analyst H.I. Sutton shared this information on his X account.
According to satellite imagery, ten ships left the naval base and anchored in the bay, and some of them sailed in the direction of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Militarnyi previously reported on the movement of a large group of Russian ships with reference to OSINT analyst MT Anderson.
He discovered that the following ships had left Novorossiysk:
Together with them, two Project 266M Aquamarine-M minesweepers and one Project 12700 Alexandrite minesweeper also set off in an unknown direction.
Two Project 11356R frigates remained in Novorossiysk: the Admiral Essen and Admiral Makarov.
At the same time, Vishnya (Meridian) class intelligence ship, Grisha class corvette (Project 1124 Albatros), Dyugon-class landing craft, and Buyan class corvette remained at the naval base.
One Project 22160 patrol ship also remained in port. It was equipped with a Tor-M2KM modular anti-aircraft missile system. The latter is deployed on the rear deck instead of the helicopter.
It can be assumed that the reason for the withdrawal of amphibious assault ships to Crimea could be the disruption of an important ferry crossing that provided logistics for Russian troops in the region.
After numerous successful attacks on Russian amphibious warfare ships, warships, and auxiliary vessels, the main ship’s personnel were withdrawn from their base in Crimea to Novorossiysk.
