Denmark will hand over the Piranha III wheeled armored personnel carriers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The specialized media OLFI covering Danish defense and security policy informs about this.

According to the Danish journalists, the Ukrainian Defense Forces will be receiving 25 8×8 Piranha IIIC.

Also, the media has released the amount of M113 G3 DK tracked armored personnel carriers that Denmark will be shipping to Ukraine. According to OLFI journalist Peter Rasmussen, 50 units are planned to be transferred.

Piranha is a family of armored fighting vehicles designed by the Swiss company MOWAG. It is offered in 6×6, 8×8, and 10×10 configurations. It is one of the most popular armored vehicles in the world.

According to the open sources,  until recently, Denmark owned a fleet of 115 Piranha IIICs and 22 Piranha IIIHs (modification with a composite armor suite).

Now, the Danish army is rearming with the Piranha V armored personnel carriers.

Previously, the Canadian media reported about the possibility of transferring Bison armored personnel carriers, which are a localized version of Piranha, to Ukraine.

According to Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, at the meeting in Ramstein, the Western partners of Ukraine agreed to coordinate their efforts in supplying certain types of equipment. Thus, the joint efforts of several countries with a fleet of similar APCs could significantly strengthen the newly created units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Specifically, thanks to the United States and Denmark supplying M113 armored personnel carriers, Ukraine will be receiving 250 units of this equipment, which will equip with high-quality transport at least six mechanized battalions.
