The Danish Armed Forces Command has issued a classified order to call up a part of its reservists in connection with incidents involving unidentified drones flying over the country.
TV2 reported on this, citing its own sources.
According to their information, Danish reservists received the mobilization order on Sunday, September 28. The order explicitly refers to the complex situation involving drone flights in the country’s airspace.
Sources from the TV channel reported that several hundred reserve soldiers received the order.
According to security advisor Jakob Kaarsbo, this may be reasonable in light of the upcoming European Union summit, scheduled to take place in Copenhagen on October 1.
There is no official data on the current number of reservists available to the Danish Armed Forces. However, in 2013, their number was estimated to be around 3,000 soldiers.
As previously reported, Denmark has imposed a temporary ban on all civilian drone flights, which will remain in effect until Friday, October 3.
Violating the ban may result in a fine or imprisonment for up to two years.
The restrictions do not apply to military drones, government and police drones, as well as devices used in medical and rescue operations.
Ukrainian military personnel have already arrived in Denmark to share their experience in countering drones as part of the Wings of Defense joint exercises.
The arrival of Ukrainian military personnel is intended to support partners in connection with recent incidents involving the appearance of unknown drones over the country’s territory.
During the week, participants will work on practical tasks, exchange knowledge and experience, improving their level of training and enhancing their capabilities in the field of countering air threats.
