The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is preparing legislations on the immediate needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov, on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, told journalists about the preparation of a package of legislations on the immediate needs of the army, in particular, possible additional funding, writes Interfax-Ukraine.

We held a meeting on the initiative of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk with the parliamentary leaders, where we discussed the immediate needs, operational needs, strategic needs of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense… – said the Minister of Defense.

We are currently preparing a package of possible immediate needs, and will discuss first with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, Reznikov told journalists on the sidelines of the Parliament.

Oleksii Reznikov suggests that these legislative initiatives may apply to additional funding for the Ukrainian army.

Earlier, the Minister of Defense assumed the possibility of appealing to the Verkhovna Rada for increased funding for the Armed Forces. The need to allocate additional funding may be necessary for the deployment of the Territorial Defense Forces.

According to him, today the Command of the TDF, 4 regional commands and the required number of battalions in peace-time, as well as 25 brigades will be formed.

Today, in all border areas the Territorial Defense Forces have already been formed by 70%, which absolutely allows them to perform the combat tasks, the Defense Minister added.

Reznikov also stressed that these units were equipped with both ammunition and weapons.

Continues the formation of 25 brigades (one region – one brigade), which will include more than 150 battalions (one battalion per district).

The permanent size of Territorial Defense Forces in peace-time will be 10 thousand soldiers. The TDF detachments table of organization for the special period will number more than 130 thousand soldiers, for which the appropriate reserve will be formed.
