Defenders of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol continue to inflict equipment losses on the Russian military.
Militarnyi informs about it with reference to the Azov Regiment.
In one of the districts of the city, the Russian armored personnel carrier was hit by the Azov Regiment.
The published video records how one of the Ukrainian soldiers comes out of the shelter and hits the equipment of the Russians.
The footage shows that another defender with an RPG-7 is covering the soldier from the other side of the road.
Ukrainian fighters used the “MATADOR” RGW-90 HH multi-role anti-tank grenade launcher against the BTR-82A modification of the armored personnel carrier of the Russian military.
On March 26, 2022, the first batch of anti-tank weapons including these grenade launchers arrived in Ukraine from Germany.
Initially, 2,650 units arrived in Ukraine. The total procurement volume was 5,100 units; the remaining 2,450 are currently being manufactured and will be arriving in Ukraine in small batches by the end of May.
The purchase price reportedly amounted to 25 million euros.
The fact that the Mariupol defenders have these grenade launchers suggests that the supply for the city’s garrison was ongoing in late March or early April.
For reference: “MATADOR” RGW-90 is a multi-purpose anti-tank grenade launcher from Dynamit Nobel Defense.
The grenade launcher is based on the Armbrust grenade launcher. Its caliber is 90 mm, length 1 m, and weight 8.9 kg. The shooting range is 14-500 m and can be increased by attaching a Dynahawk sight. It is also equipped with a night sight. The weapon shows an initial speed of up to 250 m/s and has the ability to fire within a limited space.
