Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Russian R-330Zh Zhitel EW system in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Special Operations Forces published a video of the hit of an enemy system with a HIMARS MRL.
The military said that during reconnaissance in the Zaporizhzhia sector, the operators of the 3rd Separate Special Purpose Regiment had discovered a R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare jamming communication station.
Ukrainian Special Forces adjusted the fire of the missile and artillery unit of the Defense Forces.
Judging by the footage of the video, the target effects of the Russian R-330 was carried out by a GMLRS rocket from the American M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket system.
The rocket exploded over the vehicle from the system and struck it with a large number of metal balls contained in its warhead.
The SOF noted that as a result of the coordinated work of Ukrainian defenders, the enemy Zhitel EW system had been destroyed.
The same Russian system was destroyed in Zaporizhzhia in early March. He was also hit by HIMARS, which was adjusted by SOF operators.
Also, with the help of an unmanned combat aerial vehicle, Ukrainian defenders hit the Zhitel EW system in the Luhansk region.
A hit was recorded on a KamAZ truck, which is part of the Zhitel system. After hitting two targets, the vehicle burned down.
The Russian R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system is designed for automated detection, direction finding and analysis of radio emission signals in the operating frequency range.
It is stated that the R-330Zh provides the setting of radio interference of terminals of Inmarsat and Iridium satellite communication systems. It also interferes with the equipment of NAVSTAR (GPS) satellite navigation system users and base stations and terminals of cellular radio communication systems of GSM-900/1800 and 1900 standards.
